Something lovely is growing at Warminster Community Hospital

Thanks to your donations, we've been able to buy a whole batch of plants for the patients' balcony — and our wonderful hospital staff have been busy potting them up.

There are herbs to brush past and smell — rosemary, chives and parsley. Petunias, marigolds and a fuchsia for colour right through the summer. And 101 bulbs — muscari, tulips, narcissi and Dutch iris — tucked away ready to surprise everyone next spring.

It might sound like a small thing. It really isn't.

When you're recovering in hospital, a few weeks can feel like a very long time. Somewhere green to sit, a bit of fresh air, colour to look at, something growing that you can watch change day by day — it lifts spirits, it encourages people to get up and moving, and it genuinely helps recovery.

Every single plant out there was paid for by someone local who chose to give.

We're a volunteer-run charity. Everything we fund — from therapy equipment to the flowers on the balcony — comes from the generosity of people in Warminster and the villages around it. There's no big budget behind us. There's just you.
